“Twenty five thousand dollars?” Drew said.

Allison looked giddier than she had in a long time. “Yup,” she said.

“Holy shit.” Drew looked as dumbfounded as he sounded. “That’s incredible, honey. Really.” He approached his wife and pulled her into his arms. “So, who paid twenty five thousand dollars for a chance to take my wife on a date?”

“His name is Terrence Sanders,” Allison replied.

“Sounds like a man with money,” Drew said.

Allison’s hands moved down his back and gave his ass a good squeeze. “He’d have to be to drop twenty five grand like it’s nothing at a charity auction.”

Drew looked around their modestly-appointed apartment and felt a mild sense of insecurity. He worked hard and made decent money, but it would take them a few years to save up $25,000 and this other guy had no problem dropping it on single date.

Drew shook off the insecurity and returned to his wife’s gleeful smile as he asked, “So, is he the kind of man that seems like he has to pay for all of his dates?”

Allison couldn’t contain her smile as she said, “Honestly, no. He’s only a few years older than we are and he’s really good looking.”

Drew couldn’t quite hide his insecurity as he realized that a young, good-looking man had paid $25,000 to take his wife on a date. He wondered if Terrence was really that generous, or if he had lascivious intentions.

Allison reached up and caressed his face. Her skin felt impossibly soft against his as she pulled his lips to hers for a sensual kiss.

“Honey, you have nothing to worry about,” Allison said. “It’s for charity, remember? Plus, I’m married to you. Think about it that way. You’re married to the woman that inspired a twenty five thousand dollar bid for a single date. Aren’t you lucky?”

“I am,” Drew said.

He knew he was lucky, too. He knew that Allison was smart, funny, beautiful, and charming. She was the total package and she’d eagerly agreed to marry him. She wanted to be his wife and she wanted it for the rest of their lives.

“So, I was thinking that I’d buy a new dress for my date. I know that means spending a little bit of money, but I feel like he spent a lot to go on a date with me and I want to look my best. Would that be okay?” Allison asked.

Drew couldn’t say no to his wife. “Yeah. Of course.”

Allison offered another soft, sensual kiss. Drew couldn’t help but get hard.

“Before I go,” Allison said as she took his hand and headed towards the bedroom, “why don’t we have a little fun?”

Drew wasn’t going to turn down the chance to make love to his wife. “I can’t think of anything better,” he said before pulling Allison close, picking her up, and carrying her to their bed.

“Is that the dress?” Drew asked as he admired the short red dress Allison had laid out on the bed.

“It is,” she said from the bathroom. “What do you think?”

Drew stepped closer and ran his fingers over the surprisingly soft fabric. It seemed exceptionally short and low cut. He fought off a wave of insecurity over the idea of his wife wearing that dress on a date with another man and said, “It looks really sexy.”

Allison stepped into the bathroom doorway and Drew looked over. She was in the process of doing her hair and makeup and there wasn’t a stitch of clothing on her body. She looked breathtaking.

“Do you think it’s too sexy?” Allison asked.

Drew directed his gaze to his wife’s eyes and smiled. “I’ll admit to feeling a little bit jealous and maybe a touch insecure. I mean, how often does a married man have to deal with his wife going on a date with someone else, and how often is that wife as beautiful as you are, and how often does that wife buy an insanely sexy red dress for that date?”

Allison stepped out of the bathroom and sauntered towards her husband and pressed her body against his. Drew ran his hands over her smooth skin and the scent of her shampoo filled his nose.

“I know it might sound crazy, but Terrence spent a lot of money on this date and I want him to feel like he’s getting his money’s worth, you know?” Allison said as she stepped back. “The sexy dress is part of that. Doing my hair and makeup is part of that. I don’t want you to feel bad, though.”

“I don’t feel bad. I really don’t. It’s not like I’m obsessing about it or anything. It’s just that kind of animalistic reaction, you know? It’s that ingrained thing where I’m probably supposed to feel a little jealous that my wife is getting all dolled up to go on a date with someone else.”

Allison leaned and kissed his cheek. “You’re sweet,” she said before spinning around and heading back to the bathroom.

Drew was feeling a little more insecure about the whole thing than he was willing to admit. Terrence was taller, better looking, and more successful than him. Allison was essentially going on a date with a better version of Drew, and it was eating away at the least secure parts of him.

It took almost an hour before Allison finished her hair and makeup. Drew couldn’t tear himself away from the bedroom, working on his laptop in the bed and enjoying the occasional view of Allison’s ass when she bent over to get closer to the bathroom mirror.

“Wow, you look incredible,” he said when she emerged in full hair and makeup.

Allison’s normally straight hair had been styled in long, loose curls and she’d gone with a far sexier makeup look that usual. The dark mascara was a particularly arousing choice.

“Thank you,” she said before stepping in front of the dresser and pulling open her underwear drawer.

When she turned around with a black lace bra and panty set that Drew had never seen before, his insecurity cropped up again. He watched his wife put on the lingerie and his cock came to life. She looked so good he couldn’t help but feel an unstoppable kind of desire.

“Wow. Is that new lingerie?” he asked.

Allison smiled. “It is. I know it’s silly. It’s not like he’s going to see my lingerie. It helps me feel beautiful, though, and that will make me a better date. It’s probably hard to understand for a man. It’s a woman thing.”

“You’re right, I don’t entirely get it, but I appreciate that you want to feel beautiful. There’s nothing wrong with that,” Drew said.

Allison smiled and returned to the lingerie drawer. She had a pair of black stockings with lace tops in her hands when she came back to the bed.

“Stockings? You never wear stockings,” Drew said.

“I asked Terrence if there was anything he wanted to see me in. Black stockings were the only request he made,” Allison replied as she gently pulled a stocking up her left leg.

“You’ve been talking with him?” Drew asked while trying his very best to contain the growing sense of panic bubbling up inside him.

“Texting, actually. They gave him my number after he won the auction.”

Drew put his laptop aside and leaned forward. It felt like his heart was pounding in his chest. No matter how hard he tried to calm himself, he couldn’t quite do it. “What else have you been texting about?” he asked.

Allison pulled on her other stocking and stood up. She looked genuinely breathtaking in what was obviously a matching lingerie set. She approached the bed with a sweet smile on her face.

“Drew, honey, you need to stop worrying. You’re going to lose your mind tonight. I’m not going to fuck Terrence, okay? He’s not going to sweep me off my feet and convince me to blow up my marriage for one night of romance and beautiful lovemaking. Okay?”

As the last words left her lips, Allison leaned over and kissed him. She parted her lips and her tongue gently slipped into Drew’s mouth and did a lusty little dance that replaced some of his anxiety with a pure, beautiful form of arousal.

The moment the kiss ended Drew’s mind turned to what she’d said. Why had Allison mentioned a night of romance? Was it going to be a romantic date? Had she and Terrence been texting about what the evening would entail? Had the other man been clear that his intentions were to seduce Allison? Did she want to be seduced? Was that why she was clearly making an effort to look so good?

Drew kept it all to himself. He refused to be the overwhelmingly insecure, annoying husband that would ruin his wife’s night. He refused to make himself the enemy in this situation. He didn’t want her going on a date with a rich, handsome man while being mad at him for being so insecure.

Instead, he said, “Twenty five thousand is a bargain for a date with you.”

Allison smiled and spun around before giving her ass a playful smack. “Do you want to see me in the dress?”

“Damn right I do,” Drew replied.

Allison pulled the short, sexy red dress over her head and asked, “Will you zip me up?”

Drew stepped behind his wife and slowly pulled up the zipper. He enjoyed the soft feel of her skin against his fingers and the scent of the perfume she’d put on before stepping out of the bathroom.

When he was finished, Allison stepped forward and spun around. Drew let his eyes roam over her body and quickly decided that she looked as good as she ever had.

“Fuck,” was all he said.

“That good, huh?” Allison asked.

“He’s a lucky man,” Drew added.

Allison couldn’t help but smile. “You really think so?”

“Like I said, twenty five thousand is a bargain.”

A mildly distressed look came over Allison’s face.

“What’s wrong?” Drew asked.

Allison pulled at the hem of her dress and said, “Honestly, I’m a little worried that I’m going to be a disappointment, or that he’s not going to feel like he spent his money wisely, you know?”

Drew took her into his arms and offered a warm hug. “That’s crazy, Allison. We both know you’re charming as hell and you can talk about almost anything, so I’m sure the evening is going to end with Terrence feeling like he got more than his money’s worth. Plus, it’s all for charity, right?”

Allison stepped back and looked up at Drew. Her worried look had been replaced by what looked like nervousness.

“What is it?” Drew asked.

“What would you think about me kissing him?” Allison said.

For a few seconds, Drew was too surprised to say anything. When he found the ability to speak, all that came out was, “Wait, what?”

“I’m not talking about making out or anything. I just mean like a first date kiss, you know? I’m not even saying that I’d initiate it or anything. I’m just saying that I feel like it would be nice to let him kiss me if that’s what he wanted. I feel like that might make him feel like he got his money’s worth. Only if it was a really good date and he was a gentleman, though. I don’t know, I just feel like I should give him a little bit of a reward for giving twenty five thousand dollars to charity along with paying for the date,” Allison said.

“Just a kiss?” Drew asked.

“Just a kiss. I swear. And not even a really passionate kiss. Just a quick kiss before I come home to you,” Allison reassured him. “It probably won’t even happen. Everything would have to be perfect. I just wanted to see if it’s something you’d be totally angry about or if you’d be okay with it.”

Drew wanted to tell his wife that she was insane. He wanted to tell her that Terrence had paid $25,000 knowing that all he got to do was take Allison on a date and that his money didn’t entitle him to anything else. He didn’t want her to get angry, though, and he figured the chance of it actually happening was really small. Plus, she’d been clear that it would only be a kiss. His wife had kissed other guys before she met him. What was the harm of one kiss in this very special circumstance?

“Yeah, that would be okay. I mean, I’m not crazy about it, but I wouldn’t be angry,” he said.

Allison’s joyful clapping and giddy smile gave him pause. It made it seem like she was looking forward to the kiss. He’d already said yes, though. There was no going back.

“Alright, I have to go,” Allison said as she peered at the clock on the nightstand.

Drew watched her rush into the closet to put on a pair of strappy high heels. She grabbed her handbag, gave him a soft kiss on the cheek, and headed towards the door.

“I have no idea how long this will go. I figure since he spent so much money I’ll stay as long as he wants, so it could be late. I’ll text you though,” Allison said.

“Have fun,” Drew replied in the most supportive tone he could muster.

Allison offered a smile that seemed far naughtier than it needed to be and said, “I will.”

Drew sat on the edge of the bed and a sense of dread washed over him. He wasn’t entirely sure of its source, but he couldn’t shake the notion that his wife had just left for a date that could change their marriage.
